Exercise – How To Stop On Ice – Plug

To move more safely, freely, and quickly on the ice, skaters must know how to stop. There are three simplest ways a skater can stop on the ice:

1. “Plug” or “Snowplow” – braking by shifting the weight onto the front leg and creating snow on the ice.

2. “T-stop” – shifting the weight onto the back leg, dragging it behind.

3. “Hockey stop” – braking with one leg placed behind, shifting the body weight onto it.
